Wetland Identification/Naming SOP

All field forms (Appendix A) will require recording the "Wetland Identification" code. Each wetland has been assigned a 7 character alphanumeric code. The first 2 characters refer to the physiographic region (Figure 1; Missouri Coteau = MC, Prairie Coteau = PC, and Glaciated Plains = GP); the second 2 characters refer to the physiographic region point (Figure 1; Missouri Coteau 01-09, Prairie Coteau 01-03, and Glaciated Plains 01-12); and the last 3 digits are a number from 001-240 that has been assigned to each wetland.

    Example: GP09-001

GP09 = Glaciated Plains point 9 (of 12 in this physiographic region)

001 = study wetland 1 (of the 240 study wetlands)
