Organizational Changes for Fiscal Year 1998

At year end, FY 1997, the Center implemented a new organizational scheme. Doug Johnson was recognized as a Senior Scientist among our staff and attached to the Director's Office where he will continue with his own research while adding the responsibility of advising the Director on all phases of the Center's research program and supervising the Minnesota Field Station. Terry Shaffer transferred from his position as Chief, Section of Support Services, to Chief, Section of Northern Plains Ecology, where he will direct the research program in the northern Great Plains. (Research in the Central Plains/Ozark Plateau will continue to be directed by Gary Willson.) Wes Newton accepted the position of Chief, Section of Support Services, where he will manage the Center's statistical, library, GIS laboratory, and data management functions.
